St. Joseph was built on the grit of pioneers and the vision of industrialists. During the city’s “Golden Age” in the late 1800s, it was a hub of manufacturing and wealth, a legacy that is still etched into the brick and mortar of our neighborhood. Parkway Distillery was born from a desire to honor that history while giving St. Joseph a new place to gather, play, and toast to the good times.
When you step into our tasting room, you aren’t just entering a modern distillery; you’re stepping into a gallery of St. Joseph’s industrial soul. We believe in preservation, which is why our space features:
The Legendary Goetz Bar: Our centerpiece is the original bar from the historic Goetz Brewery, a cornerstone of St. Joseph’s brewing history for over a century. Sitting at this bar isn’t just about having a drink; it’s about sharing a seat with the generations of St. Joseph residents who came before us.
Architectural Echoes: Throughout the distillery, you’ll find reclaimed architectural elements from the former Stockyards Exchange Building, paying homage to the livestock and trade industry that once made our city a global powerhouse.
We opened our doors in 2024 with a simple but ambitious mission: to blend the meticulous craft of old-world distilling with the high-energy social life of today. While our copper stills are busy producing premium bourbon, rye, vodka and gin, our courts are buzzing with the fast-paced energy of pickleball.
We chose this location because we saw a building with “good bones” and a story worth telling. By breathing new life into these historic materials, we’ve created a space where “old money” ambiance meets modern-day fun.
Whether you’re here to perfect your “dink” on the pickleball court or to savor a cocktail crafted by our master mixologists, you are part of the next chapter in St. Joseph’s history. At Parkway Distillery, we don’t just make spirits; we celebrate the spirit of community.
Welcome to the Parkway. Let’s make some history together.
